this scene is one of the fist scenes that came first. when they said all that stuff to jack i just knew that he was going to be one of the bad ones and then about simon i kind of thought that he was going to be the first one to be killed but i thought he will be killed by falling then hitting his head on a rock or somthing

this was also one of my favorite scenes because simon was killed during this chapter just beause he was trying to do them a favor and all they did do him over and that was one of the saddest parts in this whole book becides when piggy dies

Jacks Criminal's Trial blog #12

Decision on judge or jury, the the defense will decide if they wanted to be tried by the jury or the judge, prosecution cant require a jury trial.

Jury selection, it the defense decides to be tried in front of a jury the defense and prosecution selects the jury thru a question and answer proceeder called the voir dire. The judge use the questions suggested by the attorneys or the judge will make up their own questions.

Evidence issues, this procces is called in limine it is where the defense and the prosecution to admit or exclude some of the evidence.

Opening statements, the prosecution will make an opening statement to judge or the jury. The statements has an outline of the case. And then the same for defense.

Prosecution case-in-chief, the prosecution examine their witnesses by the prosecutor.

Cross examine, the defense cross examine the prosecution's witnesses.

Redirect, the prosecution re-examine their witnesses.

Prosecution rest, the prosecution is done with their side of the story

Motion to dismiss, defense may move to dismiss charges if they think that the prosecution failed to produce enough evidence.

Denial of motion to dismiss, most of the time the judge denies the defenses motion to dismiss

Defense case-in-chief, the defense examine their witnesses.

Cross examine, the prosecution cross-examine the defense's witnesses

Redirect, the defense re-examines their witnesses

Defense rest, the defense is done with their side of the story

Prosecution rebuttal, prosecutor offers some advise to refute the defenses case

Settling on jury instructions, prosecution defense and the judge gets together think of instructions that the judge will give to the jury

Prosecution closing argument, prosecution makes a closing argument and summarize the evidents and explaining why the jury should render the verdict guilty.

Defense closing argument, the defense will do the same or they will try to render the verdict not guilty

Prosecution rebuttal, the prosecution has the last word and argues that the jury has bad evidence that supports a finding of guilty

Jury instructions, the judge tells the jury what law to apply to the case and how to carry out on its duties

Jury deliberations, jury deliberates tries to reach a verdict and if they don't they require an
unanimous vote agreement. For example if the votes was 7 of 12 of the votes

Post-trial motions, if the jury files a guilty verdict the defense sometimes makes a post trial motions requesting the judge to override the jury

Denial of post trial motions, most of the times denies the post trial motion

Sentencing, if the jury decides a verdict of guilty the judge sentence the defendant right then and there or on another day

Basically what a bailiff does is they walk around the court and give out messages threw out the court. The bailiff also helps the judge maintain order in the court and will escort and people that the judge tells them to escort out. The bailiff also swears in each wittiness every time they are called up to the stand. They also hands papers and information to the judge and like evidence and stuff like that.
